Though the Purely Brilliant series launched in 2019, our journey through the glittering and alluring world of Ideal Cut diamonds culminates in this final showpiece: a magnificent 5 oz. coin crafted in Canadian gold and topped with five Canadian diamonds.

This is Opulence, and this low-mintage/high-prestige collectible is a sumptuous showcase of different diamond shapes from the Ideal Cut diamond collection, graded by the De Beers Institute of Diamonds – square, round, oval, cushion and heart – that were individually featured on our Purely Brilliant Ultra High Relief (UHR) gold coins. Each of these five 0.6-carat Canadian-mined sparklers are set in a 24-karat gold embellishment fashioned by Canada’s Beverly Hills Jewellers, and surrounded by an additional 0.4 carats of decorative diamonds for a total carat weight of 3.4 carats.

• Adorned with Canadian diamonds. Your 5 oz. diamond-adorned, pure gold collectible brings the Purely Brilliant series to a close. It features five different diamond shapes from the Ideal Cut Diamond collection: square, round, oval, cushion and heart. Each 0.6 carat diamond is Canadian-mined and responsibly sourced, and is inscribed with a unique serial number by the De Beers Institute of Diamonds.
• Premium presentation. Each coin is housed in a luxury wood case crafted by Canadian manufacturer Manubois, along with elegant extras that ensure a premium viewing experience: a pair of cotton archival gloves, a dusting cloth, a coin insert with a custom-made wood stand that allows for an upright display, a booklet and a welcome letter signed by RCM's CEO.
• Set in 24k gold, surrounded by more diamonds. The five Ideal Cut diamonds are set in a jewellery mount fashioned by Canada’s Beverly Hills Jewellers out of Canadian-mined gold. Each 0.6 carat diamond is surrounded by an additional 0.4 carats of decorative diamonds, for a total carat weight of 3.4 carats per coin.
• Canadian gold. For Opulence, only the finest canvas will do: this coin is crafted from 5 oz. of 99.99% pure, Canadian-mined gold, which has been polished to proof perfection and painstakingly sculpted to create an exquisite piece of Canadian jewellery art.
• Includes serialized certificate. Comes with two certificates of authenticity: a numbered one from the Royal Canadian Mint in the form of a booklet; and one from Crossworks Manufacturing that lists the serial numbers and specifications for each of the five Ideal Cut diamonds, graded by the De Beers Institute of Diamonds, on each coin.

PACKAGING

Your Purely Brilliant coin is encapsulated and comes with a white, custom-built wood presentation case. Inside the compartment, you’ll find an insert that elegantly holds your coin and easily slides into the accompanying wood stand for an upright display. An additional tray holds a dusting cloth and a pair of archival gloves for safe coin handling, along with certificates of authenticity issued separately by the Royal Canadian Mint and Crossworks Manufacturing, and a letter signed by the CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint. To alleviate the risk of damage during transit, your coin, its wood case and display stand are all packaged separately but shipped together in one box for a memorable unboxing experience.

Since the 1991 discovery of diamond-bearing kimberlite in the Northwest Territories, Canada has become an important source of sustainable natural diamonds – in fact, we’re the world’s third-largest producer of diamonds by carat volume.

Designed by Canadian artists Chris and Rosina Reid, the coin’s reverse features a spellbinding amalgamation of previous Purely Brilliant coin designs, each inspired by the individual shape, patented cut and light performance of the five Ideal Cut diamonds, graded by the De Beers Institute of Diamonds – square, round, oval, cushion and heart – set at the centre of this coin. The five Canadian-mined, 0.6-carat gems are mounted on a 24-karat gold embellishment fashioned by Beverly Hills Jewellers, where each one is surrounded by an additional 0.4 carats of decorative diamonds for a total carat weight of 3.4 carats. The obverse features an artistic interpretation of the reverse’s diamond mount, which forms a repeating pattern behind the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.

ABOUT THE ROYAL CANADIAN MINT

The Royal Canadian Mint is known as one of the most reputable mints in the world. The Ottawa Branch of the Royal Mint opened in 1908 and was renamed The Royal Canadian Mint in 1931 when control was transferred to the Canadian government.
