The 10 heraldic statues, which stood watch over Elizabeth II's 1953 Jubilee, form the subject of the already hugely popular Queen's Beasts series, of which this is the 3rd edition.

Designed by skilled artist Jody Clark, this year's reverse feature is the proud and fiery red dragon of Wales, a feature on the Welsh coat of arms as far back as the 6th century and in the royal coat of arms later, in the sixteenth. This vision of regal muster is set within a frame bearing the title of the coin, as well as its year of release.

The obverse design, which has been just as skillfully fashioned by renowned Jody Clark, is an elaborate portrait of Elizabeth II in profile. Elizabeth II's regal title is also to be found on the obverse, as well as the coin's unique face value.
