The reverse side depicts the female personification of Great Britain, Britannia, her reassuring demeanour emblematic of national pride and the reign of one of the most established and successful monarchies in our collective history. Britannia is seen, resisting gale force winds, with her right arm extended, bearing a trident, with a union jack shield and an olive branch in her left. The typical guilloche design has been replaced with an enhanced surface animation that appears as waves to the examiner, with enhanced detailing of Britannia's shield using tincture lines. The image is encapsulated with a ring that contains the Latin phrase "Decus et Tutamen" or "Glory and Defense." The year of issue, weight, purity, and metal type are also included.

On the obverse is Jody Clark's contemporary effigy of her majesty, Queen Elizabeth, with meticulous attention to detail, over an enhanced guilloche design. Her title and the coin's denominational value are also displayed on the obverse.
